From the supply chain to the art of confectionery: Numbers, trends and prospects of an excellence in Italian cuisine, UNESCO Heritage.

On the occasion of SIGEP, ISMEA organizes a meeting dedicated to Italian nuts, to offer an updated reading of numbers, trends and prospects of an excellent sector of the national agri-food industry, at the basis of an internationally recognized confectionery industry.
Attention will be focused on walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, almonds and chestnuts, products at the center of the communication campaign promoted by the MASAF – Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, "Nuts. Italy is inside".
"The nut supply chain plays a leading role in the Italian confectionery industry, providing high-quality raw materials, enhanced by the mastery of pastry chefs, gelato makers and chocolatiers. The data on household consumption also confirms their growing appreciation, supported by the spread of wellness-oriented lifestyles and the success of innovative products – such as mixes, energy bars and functional snacks – which have contributed to deseasonalize consumption, overcoming the exclusive link with recurrences and festivities."
The event will also be an opportunity to present the calendar of masterclasses scheduled at the MASAF–ISMEA Stand, curated by masters of the great Italian tradition of gelato, pastry and chocolate. The demonstrations will see the collaboration of students from the Hotel Management Institutes of the Romagna Riviera, in a dialogue between training, creativity and artisan know-how.
